I've Had Better

Super quick & easy to use

I ordered this along with a jump-o-lene for my kids it inflated the entire (massive) thing in a matter of minutes and was so easy to use I didn't even have to look at the manual! You just plug it into the wall and stick one of the air nozzles right into the air plug. It came with 4 different sizes I believe worked great very happy with my purchase! Not what you think

So you invest the money in this unit as opposed to buying the Filter and Chlorine Generator separately. You think you've got a compact package that mounts both functions on a single platform. You think you'll run the filter all the time (as they should be) and use the timer to run the Chlorine Generator the recommended amount of time (which for my Intex pool is 4 hours). You think you got it all covered. You'd be wrong.



The unit set up easily enough I added the salt to my pool after shocking it. I turned the unit on and the filter started running all seemed good. Since Intex recommends you stay out of the pool when the generator is running I decided to run it at night. The timer does not allow you to set a time rather it lets you set a duration say 4 hours and the generator will come on then and repeat the same duration every 24 hours. So at 11pm I went out and started the generator. The next morning the filter pump was shut down. After a lot of reading and calls to Intex I learned that this is how the system works. Twenty-four hours later the generator and the filter came back on. This means that normal Model 8111 operation will only filter the pool when the generator is running. Since they warn against over-chlorinating I can only run it for four hours a day in my pool. Imagine an active pool only being filtered four hours a day. Not a good thing. Intex recommends that I simply go out and restart the filter pump every morning. I can tell you that's not why I bought it. Intex was uncaring couldn't explain to me why anybody would use this unit. At one point they actually suggested that I buy another filter to run on the pool!!! Given that there is only one inlet and one outlet this is physically not possible never mind the sheer stupidity of the solution.

Don't buy this unit buy the units separately and all will be good.

QUICK pump!

I got this pump to fill up kiddie splash pools and ball pits.

It's doing a great job at it!

This pump really IS quick. Filling up a BIG splash pool ("sun shade pool") takes only a few minutes with NO effort.



The reason why it didn't get 5 stars is:



- the power cord is too short...



- the connection between the hose and the nozzle that goes into the inflatable toy keeps on coming undone while inflating which is pretty annoying. I have to hold it tightly the whole time it is in use.



Other that that this is a great value! You can't beat $30 for a pump that inflates that quickly and is reliable too (no batteries to charge or anything - just plug it in!)More detail ...

Pretty good

This pump is a bit too large to take with you on your inflatable boat but I have done so for short trips without a problem. The size of the pump actually gives more volume to each stroke. Love the double action although it makes you work hard. And love the valve that makes the work easier but turns the pump into a one-way pump. The attached heads are a little crowded on the rope and get in the way all the time but it's not that big of a deal.More detail ...

This pump is excellent removes water quickly and the special wide base allows it to sit on the cover without tipping. It can double as a hot tub pump with a different baseand can even be thrown into the swimming pool to reduce its level.More detail ...

Works great as a pump or siphon

Needed something to pump water away from the house during a fast snowmelt. This unit works great! Not mentioned in the initial information received was that it would function as a siphon too. It's not necessary to keep the pump running on its batteries. Place it in a bucket or old ice chest on a higher level than the end of a garden hose run the pump for a minute or so then shut it off. It will continue to siphon water until it loses suction. I put a valve between the pump's hose and the 15 ft. garden hose to regulate the flow of water and it siphons all day. Hopefully it will do so until all the snow melts and we can get the downspouts reconnected to the house gutters. It was expensive but it appears to work well.More detail ...
